Levenseat is a successful waste management business with both landfill and recycling operations. They have been engaed in waste management operations since 1986 and currently handle about 200,000 tonnes per year of a range of wastes including household commercial, industrial, inert and organic wastes.
Levenseat, near Forth in Lanarkshire, is responsible for processing waste food from domestic, restaurants, and supermarkets. On entering the site, the material goes through a depackager which helps remove the plastic and break down the food. It is then pumped to a pair of Fan PSS 3.2-780 separators to extract liquid from the product. This process helps greatly in the making of compost as it is now a much drier product, and easier to put through the composting process. The liquid is very suitable for the biogas industry, due to its very high potency and energy value. Overall the separating process greatly enhances the composting process, and produces a marketable liquid by-product. For more information about the Fan PSS separator click here.
