Bring the problem, not the product name. An SQP can prescribe and supply most farm wormers, fluke drenches and a number of vaccines there and then, with no vet appointment. What they need from you is stock numbers, weights, what you used last and what you are actually seeing.

Can I buy wormers and fluke drench over the counter at McCaskie?
Yes. There is a qualified SQP in every store at Ayr, Kinross, Lanark & Stirling, and an SQP can prescribe and supply POM-VPS medicines — most farm wormers, fluke drenches and a number of vaccines. Anything classified POM-V is your vet's.
What should I bring to the counter?
Stock numbers and groups, approximate weights, what you treated with last and when, any test or forage analysis results, and what you are actually seeing in the stock. Since May 2024 an SQP has to record the reason for prescribing, so the questions are part of the record.
