What We Collect Through the Website
Only what you type into one of our forms, and the cookie and usage information described further down. You do not need an account to use the site.
| Form | What it asks for | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Contact | Name, phone, email, message; address if you give it | To answer your enquiry |
| FFIS quote | Name, email, phone, address, the product you want priced, how you heard of us, your message | To prepare the quote you asked for |
| Energy consultation | Name, phone, email, details of any existing renewables; address if you give it | To arrange the free consultation you asked for (see who we share this with, below) |
| Site visit | Name, farm name, postcode, phone, email, and the herd and milking details you choose to give | So an engineer can ring you back and plan the visit |
Emails you send us and calls you make are handled in the same way: we use them to deal with what you contacted us about.
Our Legal Basis
When you ask us for a quote, a consultation or a visit, we use your details to take the steps you asked for before any contract. For general enquiries we rely on our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us. Analytics and advertising cookies are used only with your consent, which you give or refuse in the cookie banner.
Cookies and Usage Information
Some cookies are needed for the site to work. The others measure how the site is used and how our advertising performs, and are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner.
| Service | Cookies | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Squarespace | crumb | Security for forms. Needed for the site to work. |
| Squarespace | ss_cvr, ss_cvt | Squarespace’s own visitor statistics. |
| Google Analytics | _ga, _ga_W2FWGRH714 | Counts visits and shows which pages are used. |
| Meta (Facebook) | _fbp | Measures visits that come from our Facebook and Instagram adverts. |
| Microsoft Clarity | _clck, _clsk | Records how pages are used — clicks, scrolling and taps — so we can see where pages are hard to use. It runs only if you accept analytics cookies, and anything you type into a form is hidden from it. |
Our videos play through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which does not set YouTube cookies until you press play.
To change your cookie choice at any time, use the Cookie Preferences button at the bottom of the page.
Who We Share It With
We do not sell your information. We share it only with:
- Beyond Innovation, the independent energy consultants who carry out our energy consultations — energy consultation requests are passed to them.
- The services that run the website: Squarespace, which hosts the site and its forms, and Google, Meta and Microsoft for the analytics and advertising measurement described above.
- Anyone we are required to share it with by law.
Some of these services are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your information leaves the UK, it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
How Long We Keep It
Enquiries and the details that come with them are kept for up to six years from our last contact with you, then deleted. Cookies last for the periods their providers set; clearing your browser’s cookies removes them sooner.
Your Rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete it, or stop or limit how we use it;
- pass it to you, or to another organisation, in a common format.
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, contact us at info@mccaskie.co.uk, 01786 474 481, or write to us at 4 Munro Road, Springkerse Industrial Estate, Stirling FK7 7UU. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
